It is the largest National Park in Central India with significant population of Royal Bengal Tiger, leopards, the sloth bear, Barasingha and Indian wild dog. The lush sal and bamboo forests and ravines of Kanha provided inspiration to Rudyard Kipling for his famous novel "Jungle Book”.
Bhedaghat is a town in Jabalpur district in the state of Madhya Pradesh, situated by the side of river Narmada. Approximately 20 km from Jabalpur city, its most famous sights are the Dhuandhar Falls, Marble Rocks, and the Chausath Yogini temple. The temple is one of the four major extant temples containing carvings of sixty four yogini and was built in the 10th century, during Kalachuri Empire. It commands a view of the whole area around the river through the marble rocks. Its major attraction is a waterfall known as Dhuandhar, which looks like smoke coming out of the river.
Pachmarhi is a hill station also known for the Pachmarhi Cantonment. It is widely known as "Satpura ki Rani", situated at a height of 1100 m in a valley of the Satpura Range. Pachmarhi region was the kingdom of the Gond tribe king Bhawut Singh and prior to annexation to the British Empire, it was the capital of this tribal dynasty. The area was introduced to the western world by Captain James Forsyth of the British Army when Pachmarhi became a hill station and sanatorium for British troops in the Central Provinces of India. Pachmarhi also served as the summer capital for the Central Provinces and the forest around the town is home to many rare varieties of plants.
